Skankin Sweet Forget Your Troubles And Rock With Me

Music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch. – Debasish Mridha

Music has the power to soothe, to calm, to encourage introspection, to heal. If you want to feel good and “hol’ a vibe” then put on some music and dance like no one is watching; this is definitely the way to go! My go to music is Reggae and Dancehall; for sure I’m transported back to Jamaica. I’m right there in the dance and in that moment nothing but the music matters. One of my favourite Reggae artiste Chronixx has a catalogue that will keep you dancing for hours! Chronixx is an ambassador for Reggae music and the Revolution this wave of artistes herald. Skankin Sweet reminds us to let go and surrender to the power of music and dance.  To forget about our troubles and bask in some sweet Reggae. Music helps us to shift our focus and see things from a different perspective. The pressures of life, problems and challenges can obscure our view and if we are not careful we are caught in a cycle of worry, fear and powerlessness.

Music is a means of giving form to our inner feelings without attaching them to events or objects in the world. – George Santana

Dance because you know the truth; this life is temporary; every thing has an expiration date and this too shall pass. Use the music to raise your energy and your vibrations. Remember the Universe responds to the energy you offer. Abundance, peace, prosperity and all good things are only a good thought away. You tune into abundance; so dial in and match the frequency of your desires. This becomes easier with dedicated practice and focus. Live from the inside out and not the outside in. If you use your reality to shape your thoughts; you will be trapped in a loop of worry and fear. You are what you think about; so what are you thinking about? Remember you are a divine being who uses imagination, thought, feelings and energy to create! So what are you creating! Think about this the next time you find yourself in a slump. Put some music on, close your eyes and let the song take over. As the King of Reggae famously said:

One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain.

Bob Marley
Music is the medicine of the mind. – John Logan

Lock that good vibe in with some gratitude. It’s impossible to be worried and grateful at the same time! In the midst of a crisis; being grateful is probably the last thing you want to do! But if you really pause and reflect on all the good you have in your life and all the good that is happening even though it may not feel like it; your focus is bound to shift! When you acknowledge that gratitude is the key to unlocking the magic;  your life will begin to take on a whole new meaning. A little solitude is necessary, so go within for there is where the answers live. Turn to the power of music because “music speaks what cannot be expressed; soothes the mind and gives it rest. Heals the heart and makes it whole. Flows from heaven to the soul.” – Pamela Newman
